One frosty Tuesday morning our VC did play a round
It really was important that a minus card was found
She needed this to help her team a minus score to make
And push the leaders off the top and eat the victory cake.
Her golf it was quite steady and her card was just ok
And then upon the seventh tee it nearly was her day
She struck the ball so sweetly it surely was a dream
It landed eighteen inches from the hole in the middle of the green.
But Liz she was so cautious she footered and she fiddled
And missed the putt it was a shame around the hole it tiddled.
Her partners they were angry ‘you wasted too much time’
Just line it up and hit it the result will be just fine.
Liz went out on Friday another round to play
I’ll have a two I’ll show them it really is my day
A perfect pupil I will be I’ve listened very hard
A birdie I will surely have to write upon my card.
She stood in fear upon the seventh a grimace on her face
With club in hand and ball on tee she hit it at some pace
‘It’s in the hole’ screamed Eileen ‘you’ve scored a perfect one
Don’t listen to your teachers their coaching days are done’
The moral of this little tale is very clear to all
That golf for you is easy you can hit a perfect ball
Perhaps a brand new challenge lawn bowls or maybe darts
Or best of all some Tuesday you could loudly call five hearts.
