Ladies Annual Prize Evening 14th October 2016

This years prize giving and supper was held on Friday 14th at Dunmurry Golf Club.

Lady Captain Fionnuala McGrady welcomed everyone and was delighted with the large turn out of ladies and she gave a special welcome to all the new members.   She thanked all those who organised the evening with special mention to  handicap secretary Margaret Kennedy and her team and thanked all the Ladies who donated prizes.  She said that it had been a good golfing year at Dunmurry and thanked Justin and green staff, John and Matt in the pro shop, Rita and the bar staff, Pauline and her staff in the office and the catering staff.

 

After a very enjoyable buffet supper Lady Captain with the help of Margaret Kennedy presented the many cups and trophies to the winners.   Everyone was waiting for the announcement of golfer of the year which was a very close call and it was with great applause that Julia Trinder  was crowned Golfer of the Year.

Two further events:

 

(1) Dunmurry ladies played in the annual friendly match at Lisburn, this was a very enjoyable outing played in lovely sunshine where the home team retained the trophy.

(2) Malone ladies came to Dunmurry for the annual friendly and again this was played in beautiful sunshine, which resulted in a half match and Malone retained the trophy.
